The slide scanner is an input device designed to scan images from photographic slides. The slide is held in a small frame and is projected through a scanning lens onto a sensor in the scanner's housing. The sensor detects the transmitted light and converts the electrical signals generated into |binary data|. This "digitized" data is then sent to the computer for processing.
